It is a renaissance memorial of defense and cult architecture.The church is situated in the center of the town, at the place of the old town center, surrounded with a moat and a defense rampart with 4 earth bastions at the corners.

Made of bricks in 1577 by the prince Ivan Glebovich as a Calvin cathedral, later it was a catholic church of Michael-Archangel.

In 1772 they built a two-storied wooden building under a high roof with high pediment decorated with figures in the center of the main facade.

In 1840 the temple was consecrated as Saviour-Transfiguration Orthodox church.
